Government of Algorath

Synopsis:

  The Government of Algorath is lead by 3 main heads, which are elected democratically. However, only specific races can be eligible for election, due to the history of the Country. This is done more so for the sake of tradition, rather than outright racism. The eligible races are: Human, Dwarven, Elf, Tiefling, and Aasimar. Any other race cannot attempt an Electoral campaign to be one of the 3.   The 3 are broken down into different groups which look over various parts of Algorath's Structure:  
  • Head of Public Affairs
  • Head of Military
  • Head of Commerce
  • While each Head may be a leading figure for different purposes, each member still has several authorities and abilities that the title grants them. Some of these include:  
  • Overturning potential law that a Council might propose which are viewed as unjust, or against Algorath's basic beliefs.
  • Temporarily servicing under another Head's duties in the absence of another Head until the Secondary Head is able to take over the position.
  • Place a vote in which each Council, as well as each Head may elect to hold in order to absolve a member of the 3 from their position.
  • Be present at any hearing or trial as an onlooker.
  • A home in every Town or City in the Country.
  • Promote a soldier or citizen to a Headhunter, or Honor Guard.
  • Call into question the action of another Head.
  • Head of Public Affairs:

      The head of Public Affairs has the duty of enforcing, and adjudicating the rights that are given to each Algorathian citizen. The Head of Public Affairs powers include, but are not limited to:  
  • Legalization/Banning of a Religion
  • Creating and or Officiating Holidays
  • Delivering of Food and Water in areas that are near inhospitable, or emergencies
  • Holding votes for Town Masters, City Masters, as well as officiating them after extensive research
  • Spread of news, public literature, and freedom of speech
  • Granting Land
  •  

    Head of Military:

      The Head of Military controls all of the armies and men that Algorath has under its banner. The Head of the Military oversees numerous high value operations, as well as has several high ranking officers to aid him in overlooking each branch of the Military. The Head of the Military's powers include, but are not limited to:  
  • Officiating a War after a unanimous vote
  • Signing treaties, discussing, or otherwise interacting with other countries
  • Controlling expansion operations inside of the Deadlands
  • Promoting any branch of the Algorathian Military
  • Establishing new branches of the Algorathian Military
  • Purchasing/Development of new warfare technology
  •      

    Head of Commerce:

      The Head of Commerce controls the treasury of the Country, as well as the minimum tax requirement for the Country. The Head of Commerce also must keep track of the ever-fluctuating value of objects that are moved constantly within Algorath. The Head of Commerce's powers include, but are not limited to:  
  • Establishing Mercantile Guilds, and keeping track of each one.
  • Raising or lowering the base tax price of the Country.
  • Enforcing Fines and Fees to be paid through the Algorathian Military.
  • Signing off on the establishment of a Town, Village, Hamlet, City, Building, Religious Structure, or any other location that would require tax, or tax exemption.
