Sceze-Karapatov 1.14-14K

Sceze-Karapatov 1.14-14K is a bolt-action rifle in use as the general purpose rifle of the Ortashver. It was adopted in the year 116 of Kelzyn era to serve in the ongoing War of the Scorpion. Designed ground-up with intent to be the mainstay of the newly created Ortashver, the manufacturer was granted near unrestricted capacity for effective field testing.

Given the rifles intended general purpose use, it was subjected to a trials from lava-fields to frozen wastelands and from muddy swamps to dense jungles. Even aether tests were conducted, regardless of the intended future use for ground based warfare.

War of the Scorpion:

The rifle first saw action in the Athalin front in the year 122 of the Kelzyn era. While initial assessment of field performance showed below average results, the weapons primary qualities of reliability and adaptability would soon become apparent. Initial comparison against the models used by the Ithian forces seemed to favor the Ithians, however the reliability of the 1.14-14K rifle soon won over Tessynian military planners. Whereas the Ithians had to reconsider their models for every system, the 1.14-14K showed adequate and consistent performance in all but the most extreme environments. The abrupt end of the war did make further comparison difficult on large scale, and the rate of minor improvements dropped as a result.

War of the Reeds:

The 1.14-14K rifle continues its service for the foreseeable future during the ongoing War of Reeds. The unforgiving environments of the Kyris state demanded an adaptable and reliable rifle. The first true problem of the rifle was however discovered. Since the weapon was primarily designed to be used by and against humans, effective combat against the resilient gnolls proved far more challenging that was initially expected. Initial successes could largely be credited by a one sided technical advantage of Tessynian forces, but with Kraslan intervention the advantage began to fade.

Future Service:

For the foreseeable future the 1.14-14K will remain the mainstay of Tessynian forces, creating further iterations of the model rather than choosing to reinvent the design. Eventually a successor to the rifle will be created, once new technologies are discovered which would allow a significant improvements to occur. Significant enough to justify retrofitting the entirety of the Ortashver with a new main weapon.
