Fractured Endeavour

Well over a thousand years into the future, humanity has emerged from its cradle Earth after centuries of calamity, conflict, exploration, and expansion, and is now spread across the stars. Interstellar nations formed of multiple star systems have each carved out their piece of humanity's corner of the Milky Way; some lasting only briefly and others possessing cultures centuries old.   Earth is merely a footnote in history to the peoples of the stars now, as they consider myriad worlds alien to our own their true homes. Despite the advances humanity has made, many losses have also been suffered, owed to wars and economic collapses that have come and gone since humanity's ascension to the stars. The greed and violence that always plagued the peoples of old Earth has followed them to their new homes.   The core story of this world is that of Fractured Endeavour, which follows a collection of characters from two such civilisations during the year 3412 AD: these being The Interstellar Nation of Ennessia, a small but strongly-knit collection of worlds; and the Cendari Imperial State, one of the oldest nations of humanity. They become embroiled in an insidious political plot to destabilise the tenuous peace these nations have enjoyed for decades.   Aside from this lead narrative however are a multitude of stories and characters spread across literally thousands of years; all with their own conflicts, development, and influence on the world at large and its history. Ennessia and Cendari were merely two nations amongst dozens that arose at the start of man's true expansion into the galaxy, which would across millennia play host to the rise and fall of almost innumerable peoples and cultures.   Including the story of the brothers Bower and Usorth, the latter of which gave rise to an entire independent nation of post-humanity; as well as stories of the earliest colonisers of humanity's first extraterrestrial territories, the most striking of which being the story of the Course of Stars; and accounts of the first encounters with what little alien sentience lives in tandem across the Milky Way, including the Ashen, and the Caetuvos.
