Mental characteristics
Personal history
When Secundi was born on the docks, this set his destiny to grow up to become a fisherman. This dream became more and more obscured by his life in the military. Due to a moral dilemma, he was imprisoned only to be summoned to serve Saeculum's party. Being trained in the appropriate use of the shield and short sword, Secundi's role is to protect his fellow comrades in battle.
Education
Secundi was trained in military basic training after being forcefully drafted. He was previously homeschooled in his home on the coast.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Surprisingly, Secundi excelled in basic training and combat. His sheltered childhood caused his superiors to underestimate his proficiency in battle. Not much else is notable for him besides his skill in fishing and bartering.
Failures & Embarrassments
In the aftermath of a raid deep into Provector territory, Secundi and his squadron captured the spoils of a mine. One night, on the trip home to the king's castle to deposit the minerals, Secundi was stationed on guard duty. That night a starving Provector family approached him and his asleep scout. Before he could draw his weapons the family explained their situation, they were so poor that they couldn't afford food. If he could spare some minerals they would be able to sell it for the valuable stone coins. Their thin bodies were enough to convince him so he snuck them a few handfuls of gold and silver. When dawn's bright face rose, suspicion brewed in the troops. Secundi's fellow scout was able to talk his way out of responsibility for the missing minerals. This left one suspect and he was soon imprisoned for embezzlement.
Mental Trauma
During Secundi's teenage years, his father died from a killer whale attack. After being dragged back to the dock by his son, he begged to be put out of his misery. Secundi refused his father's pleading despite not knowing the severity of his injuries. Once at the hospital, he also refused the doctor's same offer to end pain. His father died painfully a few days later. This trauma made him feel guilty which comes to light when he tries to kill his comrade after he was wounded.
Morality & Philosophy
He believes in doing everything "good", which can be morally ambiguous on its own. His attempts to be a moral paragon are folly.

Motivation
At first, finding a stable career as a fisherman was his goal in life. Prior service, Secundi was desperate to escape his life in prison. Then, he gladly took the opportunity to join Saeculum's party in his quest to murder the dictator of Provectus.
