Farronia

History

In the shadow of the Runelord's defeat a great vacuum of power formed in the country, Farron seized the opportunity to claim a kingdom in the Eastern part of the continent. There he began building his people. Under Farron's rule his people were treated well, and everyone was taken care of. Queen Ethelia I and Unda didn't take notice of Farronia until it was well established, and by that point the only way to run Farron out of his country was with war. Queen Ethelia I decided more bloodshed was the last thing her country needed in its time of rebuilding.
After 100s of years of peace, Farron took notice of the weakness of the Ethonia leadership. Farron begun mobilizing his forces towards the west. Picking up small pieces of land and claiming them for Farronia. The king of Ethonia at the time, King Ethanias II, was far too interested in entertaining guests and his political status, and sent negotiators to deal with Farron. Farron agreed to countless peace treaties while sneaking forces across the country. By the time Queen Ethelia V had taken power Farron had whittled the country of Ethonia down to half of what it had been. Queen Ethonia V's first act as Queen was to burn every peace treaty that had been signed. Deep in the vaults of Ethonia she recovered Queen Ethonia I's hammer and carried it out of the shadows and back in to battle. Leading her armies across her country she began a war that would see the whole country involved. Ethonia called upon Valenbrook and Moonglade, asking them to join them. Neither country was eager to jump in to a war. Farron, taking this momentary pause in action as weakness, used dark magic to suck the life out of the forest of Valenbrook, pulling the powerful elven magic out of the forest and into himself. The elves of Valenbrook responded immediately by joining Ethonia. The two countries marched towards Farron. Farron used his newly gained powers to reshape the eastern country side into a more defensive landscape. He raised the group up and shaped it into a massive mountain range. He then cast permanent magic upon the mountains so that they would always be snow and ice covered. The size of the mountains and the permanent magic blocked the sun from Farronia, and the magic created auroras in the sky. Farron then sunk the eastern shore, wiping out his capital city and creating a gap between the country of Farronia and his castle.

Disbandment

While Farron's magical defenses did hold back the forces of Ethonia and Valenbrook for sometime, eventually the two countries broke through and run Farron out of his castle. Ethonia's forces burned the castle to ruins. Valenbrook's forces began focusing on liberating the people so that they could stand as their own country. However, the people proved to be as stubborn as Farron, all believing he would one day return to save them. Valenbrook eventually gave up and went home. Ethonia, however, was not interested in repeating the war and instilled Ethonian leadership. Ethonia named the country "Shadowvale" in reference to the mountains blocking out the sun.
