Percy's Log - Day 39
We got up bright an early with the long day’s travel ahead of us. Upon going through my bag I noticed a small pebble was inside it, upon closer inspection I got the sense that if one were to crush it the pebble would release healing properties. The only way I can think of such a thing could have found its way into my bag was when we were in Nangalore and were surrounded by the little jungle spirits. After examining the pebble I grabbed my newly crafted firearm and headed for Asharra's home where we were to do the Dance of the Seven Winds. Though it would be of great use to me I felt the pebble was to be put in more important hands and so I passed it off to Mwaxanare in case anything were to happen to her. Before the ritual started Na pulled me aside and pointed out some additions he had made to my firearm while I slept, it would seem he was able to use some sort of magical gem his sister had lying around to allow the gun to fire beams of lightning. Not only does this prevent me needing to reload at all the chance of misfire is nonexistent. The boy is a genius when his sister does rule having him close will be vital. I mentioned that he has a bright future when it comes to such things and he seemed more interested in flying. I suggested that he could blend the two and he seemed pleased by this. After thanking him for his work the priestess was ready to perform the ritual.
The Dance went quickly enough swirling winds a faint blue glow and before we knew it we were ready to soar through the air and towards Nangalore. The ritual also left Priestess Asharra with her wings turning to dust, it was quite a horror to behold, but she assured us that they would grow back in time. She also told us that the power of flight given to us would only last three days and once those days were up if we were in flight during that time we would float back down to the ground safely... as long as the earth below was safe to land on that is. The first time flying was a tad rough it was raining a bit and I’m not quite use to being up so high and… well flying of my own accord, nonetheless I made it through alright and eventually we landed near dark and rested. I couldn’t help but being a little bit more on edge even with the guards with us, the Princess was now out in the open and anything could happen. I don’t doubt that she’s capable in her own right but dangers lurk around every corner and often when you least expect it…
