Session 3

General Summary

Fidan recovered from his stomach ailments and rejoined the crew, picking up the orcish rogue Ohro on the way. It was now time for the final confrontation with the goblins, in their own caves, no less. Freeda easily destroyed what passed for the door, but just as they were about to enter, two elves interceded, explaining that they were on good terms with the goblins and wanted the situation resolved peacefully.
This actually worked: Fidan and Brenar went into the tunnels and were brought before Velatula, the Elder. She accepted returning the stolen goods - which were now santified to Eor, the moon goddess, if the group would agree to rid Fort River Stone of the great evil in place there.
Returning to the dwarf camp, the dwarves were very happy with the outcome. However, in Fort River Stone, the group witnessed the execution of a slaver in the temple to the Raven - a bloody affair, and Brenar felt that magical energies were invoked- something under the floor boards, a demonic presence, perhaps, were feeding on the spilled blood.
Thus, under the cover of darkness, and with a sleeping potion prepared by Marita, they went back into town to see if they could locate the evil tome. Ohro went ahead and prepared a way in using rope, and everybody except Marita managed to climb in before the next patrol passed by. She opted to try for the fort door (and managed to get in) but that took some time while the rest approached the temple.
Green Walker said that everyone in the temple seemed to be sleeping. It was now time to enter it...
