Re-Equipment Utility Spell

aut viam inveniam aut faciam ex nihilo

The following spell is one that has been of great use to me, and as such I am penning it in the hope that others that follow are able to utilise it as well. I have discovered that the right combination of words and motions allow me to combine the elements and create a variety of tools, even without the inherent knowledge of the intricate details of such tools. I have also discovered the varied limits of this spell, which I shall describe here to begin.

  1. The tool in question must be something able to be crafted by iron. My attempts at wooden tools and the such have all come as failures.

  2. The tool must be something already in existence. I thought this to be quite odd, but I was unable to conjure a tool from my own imagination.

  3. The tool must be something of reasonable size to be held in my hands. A carriage, for example, was beyond my abilities.

  4. The tool will not remain for long outside of my hands. It requires conscious effort to hold its form once it has left my palm. The longest I have been able to manage is twenty minutes when concentrating. Most tools dissipate shortly after leaving my grasp.

Below I will describe how to perform the Re-Equipment Utility Spell, as well as it’s requirements. One must have a strong ability in elemental manipulation before attempting this spell, especially in that of the earth element. The base of this spell st the molding of the tool via manipulation, while the mantra serves to refine the tool.

  1. The mantra must be cited prior to the molding of the tool. I have found that citing the mantra in the original latin proves most effective, although citing it in french can also serve at a lesser extent.

  2. Basing my energy in my palms and conjuring an iron ore to which I apply heat allows me to form the tool as best as I can recall. The resulting tool shimmers as it takes form. I must use both hands to do this. One hand holds and conjures the ore while the other heats and forms the tool.

  3. I can use the same technique to reform the tool into another tool when needed. Doing so uses up more magical energy. I have found that keeping a tool intact at a distance also uses a steady input of energy, while holding a formed tool does not.

  4. With some experimentation, I have determined that the created tool often has a higher durability than a conventional tool. I suspect that this is due to its magical properties. However, that is not to say that the tools are indestructible. They may still be bent or broken, but it requires more effort to do so than it would normally.

Perrette Couture

Effect

This spell can create a functional tool, as needed, for the caster's use.

Side/Secondary Effects

This spell drains energy continuously once the created tool leaves the caster's grasp. This can be dangerous for mages with low energy reserves. The effect however does not apply to a tool's ammunition. Bullets for a gun or arrows for a bow, for example, are exempt.

Manifestation

The created tool is manifested from silver light centered at the palm of the caster's hand.

Discovery

The spell was first documented by Perrette Couture in Lyon, France; 1504.
