Civilization and Culture
History
In 3000 BC, a small group of humans were given the gift of magic by the Fae, as a gift for their good deeds. Magical traits are passed on genetically, however when a mage has a child with a human, there is a 50% chance that the child will be an alter. If an alter has a child with a human, there is only a 25% chance that the child will have any magical energy at all, let alone the ability to use it.
