Space tourists

Space tourists are casual visitors that occasionally pop onto Chaac c {planet} with their spaceships. The Settlers are very divided on their view of them. For the wealthy people the tourists are a great source of income, and they treat them very respectfully, but are actually really envious of them. For the common people the tourists are almost like gods, rare wonderous sights descenending from the heavens. however, once the exitment wears off, most of the visitors turn out to be just pretty weird, and completely oblivious of the local customs.

Religious significance

Some sects popular among the common people teach, that all space travellers are in the connection with the Heavenly Forces. They can thus show people the wisdom of the Heavenly Ancestors. These sects are trying to get into contact with the space tourists, and invite them into their worship ceremonies. The space tourists are commonly warned about the members of these sects, because they are believed to be religious extremists, and possibly dangerous.

Tourism activities

Chaac c is by no means a popular tourist resort. It attracts mainly some extreme tourists seeking the thrill of the planet's extreme storms and other weather conditions. There is also a small number of exolife tourists. Many of the locals believe, that many of the tourists are in fact slum tourists, that just like to come look at the poor local living conditions to feel better about themselves.

It is a matter of some debate whether space tourism is a true profession. Although only a portion of the visitors to Chaac c are actually pure space tourists for life, they are certainly all viewed as such by the local population.
