Fist of Maara

The world began when the goddess Maara grabbed her wicked father, the Old One, in her fist and cut off her hand, creating his prison. She and her sister goddesses bound themselves to that new world to keep him contained forever, but in doing so sealed themselves away from their divine home.   In the years since the world's beginning, the Old One's influence has begun to worm its way up to the surface of the world, influencing the minds of the peaceful people that had come to live on the surface.   The world has come to be divided. There are those who worship the Old One and his sons, who believe that magic is a scourge upon the world and that true rapture will come with the world's unmaking, and those who worship the sisters, who live in a world of wild magic and worship in blood.
