Woad Warrior Prestige Class

Requirements:   Proficiency with martial weapons Initiation into the ancient Celtic traditions by a druid or experienced Woad Warrior (to prove their connection with nature).   Level 5 - Primal Connection:   Gain proficiency in Nature, Animal Handling, and Survival skills.   Learn the "Woad Blessing" ability: The Celtic Woad Warrior can use a free action to apply woad dye to their body, invoking the primal energies of nature. While the woad is active, the Warrior gains resistance to one type of damage of their choice (slashing, piercing, bludgeoning, fire, etc.). The Woad Blessing lasts for one hour and can be used a number of times equal to their proficiency bonus before needing a long rest.   Level 6 - Animal Instincts:   Gain advantage on Wisdom (Animal Handling) checks and advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks when tracking animals. Learn the "Shapeshifter's Aspect" ability: Once per long rest, the Celtic Woad Warrior can channel their primal connection to nature to gain aspects of a chosen animal. For one hour, they gain the abilities of the chosen animal, such as a wolf's keen sense of smell or a bear's resistance to physical damage.  
  • Wolf: advantage on perception checks using smell, expertise on tracking (Survival) checks, and Pack Tactics.
  • Bear: advantage on strength checks, resistance to nonmagical damage, and Powerful Swipes conal aoe.
  • Eagle: advantage on Perception checks utilizing sight, cannot be surprised, and expertise in perception.
  • Cheetah: gain an additional 60ft movement speed, expertise in acrobatics, and +5 to initiative rolls.
  • Owl: darkvision, and advantage on checks relying on hearing.
  • Dolphin: swim speed equal to your walking speed, echolocation, and Pack Tactics while underwater.
  • Panther: Stealth, Pounce, and 120ft darkvision.
  • Snake: +3 to acrobatics checks, venomous bite, and 20ft tremor sense.
  • Spider: Wall-climbing abilities, tremorsense while on webbed surfaces, and access to the web spell.
  • Frog: Leaping ability (can jump without a running start), gain 50ft swim speed.
  Level 9 - Nature's Fury:   Learn the "Nature's Fury" ability: The Celtic Woad Warrior can tap into the elemental powers of nature. As an action, they can call upon the fury of the earth, air, or water to deal additional damage with their attacks. Choose a damage type (acid, cold, lightning, or thunder) when using this ability. The additional damage is 1d8 and can be used a number of times equal to their wisdom modifier (minimum of one) and resets after a short rest.   Level 12 - Ancestral Guardians:   The Celtic Woad Warrior gains proficiency in Wisdom saving throws.   Learn the "Ancestral Guardians" ability: Once per long rest, the Warrior can summon the spirits of ancient Celtic warriors to aid them in battle. When the Warrior enters a rage, spectral figures appear around them, acting as guardians. These spectral guardians grant resistance to all damage (except psychic) to the Warrior and their allies within 10 feet during the rage.   Level 15 - Nature's Embrace:   Learn the "Nature's Embrace" ability: The Celtic Woad Warrior gains the ability to cast the "Barkskin" and "Pass without Trace" spells once per long rest each. They can cast these spells without requiring material components, and their duration is doubled when cast on the Warrior.   Learn the "Woad Enchantment" ability: The Celtic Woad Warrior can imbue their weapon with the power of nature. Once per long rest, the Warrior can activate the Woad Enchantment on a melee weapon they are holding. For one minute, the weapon deals an additional 2d6 damage of a type matching the Warrior's Woad Blessing (e.g., fire if the resistance is fire damage). This damage ignores resistance and immunity.   Level 20 - Primordial Avatar:   The Celtic Woad Warrior becomes a conduit of nature's ancient power. Once per long rest, they can unleash their Primordial Avatar form, gaining temporary hit points equal to their Barbarian level + their Wisdom modifier. While in this form, the Warrior gains the following benefits: Immunity to being charmed and frightened. Advantage on all attack rolls. All their melee attacks deal additional damage equal to their proficiency bonus. The Primordial Avatar form lasts for one minute, during which the Warrior can't be incapacitated or reduced to zero hp.
