They combine precise melee strikes with explosive gunpowder-infused attacks, unleashing devastating blows upon their enemies.   Gunblade Master Features:   Requirements: To qualify for the Gunblade Master prestige class, a character must meet the following prerequisites:   Proficiency with martial weapons.
  • The ability to cast spells.
  • The character must have encountered a Gunblade and formed a connection with it, typically through a significant event or storyline moment.
Gunblade Techniques: At 3rd level, you gain the ability to utilize special Gunblade Techniques in combat. You gain proficiency with Gunblades, which count as a martial weapon. You learn three Gunblade Techniques from the list below. You can use each technique a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain expended uses after a short or long rest.
  • Burst Strike: You make an attack with your Gunblade, and if it hits, you can expend a Gunblade Technique die to deal additional force damage equal to the result of the die roll.
  • Explosive Round: As a bonus action, you can expend a Gunblade Technique use to imbue your Gunblade with explosive energy. Your next Gunblade attack within 1 minute deals additional fire damage equal to your Gunblade Technique die.
  • Rapid Reload: You can use a bonus action to reload your Gunblade, allowing you to make two Gunblade attacks instead of one on your next turn.
  • Guardian's Defense: As a reaction when you are hit by an attack, you can expend a Gunblade Technique use to enhance your defensive capabilities. You gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Gunblade Technique die until the start of your next turn.
  • Crippling Shot: As part of an attack action with your Gunblade, you can expend a Gunblade Technique use to cripple your target. On a hit, the target must make a Constitution saving throw or have its movement speed reduced by half until the end of its next turn.
  • Shredding Strike: When you hit a creature with a Gunblade attack, you can expend a Gunblade Technique use to rend the target. The target takes additional slashing damage equal to your Gunblade Technique die at the start of its next turn.
You can choose three Gunblade Techniques from the list above or work with your Dungeon Master to create custom techniques that fit your character concept.   The die size for Gunblade Techniques is determined by your Gunblade Master level, as shown in the Gunblade Techniques table.
