Fife

Fife is a planet orbiting Proxima Centauri, approximately four lightyears away from earth. It has a single large continent and many smaller islands. The dominant form of flora on the planet is a range of organisms that, in many ways, resemble a cross between fungi and plants. The dominant form of fauna is a species of intelligent upright walking creatures that refer to themselves as 'Fifians' or 'Fifian Beings'. They are taller and more slender than the average human being, their skin pale and speckled with gold. They have two hearts, longer limbs, and two sets of eyelids; one closes horizontally, and one closes vertically. For the most part, Fifians are very similar to humans. On earth, we would call them protomammals, or stem-mammals, but all life on Fife is independent of Earth and unique in its evolutionary development. The Fifian is passionate yet cautious, determined, yet reasonable. Their societies are centred around strong forms of leadership, and most Fifians are drawn to systems of regimentation. On the continent of Fife, two major powers have just emerged from a hundred and twenty cycles of constant war. Finally, after a gargantuan struggle, the entire world is at last free to exist in harmony under the careful rule of the Global Union.
