Fero's Forgotten Realms

My own take on one of the official D&D settings.   The original cosmology has been dropped in place for a void that works as an outer layer for our more convential universe. This void separates universes like Toril and Midgar by distances vast greater than the infinite we are used to think of.   New planes have been added, while many of the official ones have also been removed (although they can be included if desired). This version of Faerun has magic, but most people (including Elves) can't use it. Gunpowder is rare, oil has not been discovered, and electricity works differently than in real life (metals are resistant to it, but it can travel more easily through air).   All of these changes have the purpose of stopping technology from being a possibility, although magic and social systems do have started to develop bringing a little sense of modernity to the world.   Still, do not expect sci-fi like realism, I just dislike mixing medieval high fantasy with other genres (specially all of that gnome tinkerer nonsense so prevalent in games like WoW). It is not absent of some mechanical technology innovations, but things like trains or steam engines do not exist.   Also this is placed some time after the spellplague, haven't really put much effort into learning all of the events after that, I barely have 2 years as a DM and have placed a much higher emphasis on developing my own events, changes, and a different world to really go along with everything official.
