History

As long as religions have existed, less-organized spin-offs have existed too.

Divine Origins

The Mysteries are basically what happens when superstitious savages (or river-valley lightfoot halflings, apparently) adopt pieces of other religions as they become aware of them.

Tenets of Faith

It is difficult to summarize the tenets of the Mysteries, as they tend to vary wildly. Names, mythologies, power structures, and guiding principles of behavior usually depend on the individual Mysteriic tribe.
In general, though, the Mysteries tend to borrow from the Viryan and Twelve Visions religions, and sometimes the Green Rhythm or Zurvan religions as well.
