Deashy Society

The original Deashy society is nomadic, moving from settlement to settlement, the two largest being Winter Settlement and Summer Settlement. The settlements are located in Draleria.   As a people, they're very in-tune with Nature and revere it accordingly, especially animals. Their primary religion is Shamanism and they put great pride in their practices.   Others might think they're strange, with their animal features, shamanism magic and nomadic lifestyle, but the Deashy is a warm and welcoming people, always ready to accept others among their ranks. But they do tend to find other races a little boring to look at - after all, other races usually don't have animal features.   They're generally open-minded, friendly and welcoming. More often than not, they're eager to teach others of their ways, especially their shamans and their traditions, since Shamanism isn't that far spread.   Notable members of the Deashy tribal society are Cedu'li and Sireh'ya Shilno.

Culture

Common Etiquette rules

Whenever a Deashy greets somebody, they put their index finger and middle finger to their forehead, close their eyes and bow their head slightly as a sign of respect.

Common Taboos

The Deashy have strictly forbidden the use of "Dark Magic", which, to their great shame, originates from their beloved Shamanism magic.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

The Deashy sees great honour in being mentally and physically aligned with the animal their genes have magically bonded with and therefore praises animal features above all else, along with e.g. someone who's bonded with a lion to have thick, long hair, someone who's bonded with a bird to have colourful feathers and hair and so on.

Gender Ideals

The Deashy don't really care much about genders or gender identities - you are what you are and if you want to label yourself then that is fine, but the opposite is also fine.

Courtship Ideals

One of the most loving ways to show your feelings for the one you're courting is to wander out into nature and pick the person's tribe's signature flower - they both have one each - and present it to them. It is seen as a bit archaic nowadays, but whenever it is done most Deashy view it as especially romantic.

Relationship Ideals

When it comes to relationships, perhaps the Deashy are the most open-minded and experimental of the peoples of this world.   They live by the rule that as long as nobody gets hurt, do what you want. But they also put a lot of time and effort into their relationships, no matter their nature, and teach their young ones to care for one another as best they can. Communication and respect are two very important parts of the Deashy society.
