Patent 3779: Magic Nullification Device

During the Second League War, on the Day Of Darkeness, two cyborg citizens of Fayrir snuck into Xi’on’s temple undetected, and destroyed the Eternal Stone, the item keeping Xi’on alive. Her connection was broken, and she perished, leaving the League of Planets in chaos. Once governments had been somewhat formed again, Article Eighty Seven was written, forbidding any use of magic by any cyborg.

The nullification device was developed by Fayrir’s Head Of Science and Development, Yivon Deynor Once it had been created and developed, the device was mass-produced and distributed to each and every cyborg.

Utility

The only known use of the nullification device is to nullify one's magic. There are no known possible misuses, however many gangs are researching how to destroy, or even deactivate it. The closest anyone has gotten to removing the device is Ellvistor Elson, who was able to perform an operation on their sibling, Quentior Elson, removing the wiring from the device, thus rendering it useless. Ellvistor and Quentior were both executed by the Chancellor and Chamber of Fayrir for tampering with and destroying the nullification devices.

Manufacturing

The manufacturing plant for the nullification device is on the Capitol Island Of Fayrir, Xivyun, and the process is fully automated, with android workers producing the device for little to no cost. All of the materials used to make the device are quite cheap, and the spellsilver is imported from another League Planet, The Planet of Winol.

Access & Availability

Once one undergoes any for of cyborg surgery, the nullification device is implanted onto the base of their spine as part of the procedure. The procedure is funded by the Fayrian government.

Complexity

The device is fairly simple, it attaches to the base of one’s spine and blocks certain nerve impulses to the brain, thus cutting off one’s magical capacities. It is a simple surgery, and can be completed in under an hour. The device is made of simple circuits as well as Spellsilver, giving it it’s nullification abilities.

Discovery

The Chancellor and Chamber Of Fayrir commissioned Head Of Science and Development Yivon Deynor, to create a device that would block someone’s magical abilities. After many years of research, Yivon discovered that the magical properties of spellsilver allowed it to block one's magical abilities.
