Monarch of Ritheria

Appointment

Must have either won the throne in battle/uprising and been agreed to take it, or, more commonly, have it left to them as the closest living relative of the previous Monarch.

Duties

To listen to their people with empathy and commit themselves to working for their people - to not be compromised by power.

Responsibilities

To hear the people of Ritheria and the outlying villages in court for any problems they possess and find solutions to these; to direct the army; to make decisions on laws proposed by themselves or else a member of the council; to carry out sentencing for disobeying the law.

Accoutrements & Equipment

When in public, the Monarch must wear ceremonial jewellery of dangling earrings in each lobe - these are of a teardrop shape with a smaller version of the same shape cut out of the middle, made out of gold and with a large emerald set in the bottom. They must also wear robes of green which reach the floor and a lined with fur - on hotter days this is the same dress but without the fur lining.
