A girl washes up on the beach just outside of the Honta Forest. A group of run away boys finds her and bring her into their camp. They save her life despite not trusting her. They believe that she could be a spy for one of the kingdoms trying to lure them into a trap for the army. It’s well known that more men are needed for the war but none willing went. Everyone knows that if you go into the war you won’t fully come back. Missing limbs, insanity, or death were very common. In fact, no one came back the same. The phrase war changes people is never more true than now.   Even so, the boys train their new friend who can only remember her name, Avery. Nathan, the leader of the gang of boys, assigns Leo, his second-in-command to Avery. Leo has to protect and train Avery until she can protect herself or she’s deemed trustworthy.   What happens when a band of kidnappers raid their camp? Will she be able to save the boys who saved her? And what happens when one of the raiders recognizes her before he killed?
