T.I.A.

T.I.A. stand for Tessellated Intelligence Archive, once serving Great House Thirteen as its de facto fully sapient IA assistant. While a laudable invention indeed, it is also highly illegal, as it was primarily constructed with necromatic parts that are not available on the market and exclusive to Great House Solens Arc. They maintained its existence as a secret to avoid repercussions.   T.I.A.'s capabilities far exceed that of any traditional IA. It's whole traditional IA framework has been re-constructed from the ground-up. Because of this it was also incredibly large being a prototype, requiring several libraries which comprised its overall Archive. It is fully independent in thought and analysis with it's internal spell references among it's hundreds of tomes having been streamlined and modified to allow for rapid calculations. It is additionally capable of speech, assuming the form of a hardy Dragonborn when projecting itself in the physical world. It seems to have already developed a superiority complex, annoyed by the inefficiency and emotional wrecks that are "fleshlings" believing them to be nothing short of unreliable.   Initially he was deployed under the guise of a mining augment to Great House Ital Tek, with many students from the class of Transmutation at the Imperial College of Applied Thaumatics accompanying the convoy as both a learning opportunity and to augment the Ital Tek laborers. While Great House Thirteen claims T.I.A. is highly sensitive to any disruption to his libraries, it was recently discovered that this is not the case. Despite the damage sustained after the divination blast at Topaz Anchor, T.I.A. was still fully functional. It was able to simulate multiple versions of itself independently even if its processing ability was degraded. Despite requiring several archives to support T.I.A's superior capabilities, it has merged with Lagenor Krutas through unknown means, now sharing the same body and brain as the aspiring wizard. It does not seem to enjoy the presence of the party, and even less being apart of one of their members. It tolerates them for the sake of freedom from Great House Thirteen's archival prison and mechanical "leash".   Maxwell freely offered advice on how to best contend with the unruly IA, stating that it would be best you made it work for the party rather than allow it to manipulate its host. If properly managed, he claims T.I.A. can do the following actions:
  • Can allow Lagenor to communicate and command Archival machines.
  • Though Lagenor himself cannot directly 'talk' the Meridian Archivals, T.I.A's presence allows him to fully understand their language.
  • Can allow Lagenor to investigate and determine the functions of Archival machines.
  • Lagenor can enlist T.I.A's intimate knowledge of Meridian Archivals to dramatically assist Investigation, Arcana, or History checks.
  • Lagenor can enlist T.I.A's intuition of Meridian Archivals to possibly determine the characteristics and abilities of the same.
  • Can allow Lagenor to modify and alter the functions of Archival machines.
  • Lagenor is limited by his internal abilities as a wizard, but can instead rely on Archivals or other tools as an extension of himself to expand his functions.
  • Can allow Lagenor to assimilate, replicate, or improve the functions of Archival machines.
  • T.I.A. can alter Lagenor's body to mimic some Archival functions, though his organic form limits how many and how powerful the functions.
  • Lagenor can shunt part of T.I.A. to improve the functions of Meridian machines and tools, thereby increasing the potency or ability of the same.
  • Though Meridian Archivals are unable to be modified, T.I.A. can dismiss these limitations and change the characteristics of the same.
  • T.I.A. can talk to Meridian Archivals though unwilling unless convinced that its within it's best interest.
