Garrenbridge
Garren Gendry Gallion, miner and sculptor, built an arch over the river a half mile in height, earning this town the name Garrenbridge. The town has stone buildings laid out in a grid and tiered ever skyward by massive walls. The same architecture can be found deep underground Garrenbridge in the Duergar city, Horagon, implying that the city was built and inhabited by Duergar long ago.
Events
The party sail into a harbor of massive walls, mind-bogglingly tall. The Shut Up Idiot is the largest vessel at port so Rockford and Dockford anchor somewhere out of the way and the party ferries to the docks. Animosius the harbormaster requests the papers for the Shut Up Idiot but none can be produced...
(work in progress from here on)
...Zaihiri tells us about a shady deal... we intercept the deal, find god dust... simultaneously Bart kills a person from behind but that person has a black rose that disentegrates... we kill the god dust smugglers.. run into werewolves, manage to capture one and cure it. meet Mora daughter of Kalosis...
Mora makes it clear that the party is to leave Garrenbridge before a coming festival. She mentions several problems on her mind (other than who could be giving children lycanthropy?) before this festival. The party decides to help with as many of Mora's problems as they can, trying to get on her good side. One of these problems lead deep underground where the local mines are overrun by monsters.
Smashing monsters is what the party does best, so we head into the Underdark, which also happens to be Qalirin's area of study as a professor of archaeology. The party finds a few Galeb-Dur, a sort of sentient rock. Don Loxo rides one. These creatures seem to react when a particular seam of minerals are struck, causing them to attack. Soon after the difficult battle, the party are beset by two Rocktupi and wind up in a tug of war between their tentacled tendrils. Narrowly claiming victory, the party next come to a solid stone wall. Here the party rests while Qalirin searches for information regarding this wall in a journal found nearby.
A set of symbols on the stone wall translate to "Give up hope." Bartholomew is the first to figure out how to pass the magical barrier into a Duergar city on the other side. He finds a brilliant crystal floating between the tines of a two-pronged fork before him. He grabs it but lets go after a jolt of electricity scalds his palm. One by one, the party members learn how to pass through the wall in their own way.
