You can spend your downtime to train in various skills, languages, or tools. You must spend the listed about of time and gold per week to gain proficiency. A single character can learn an unlimited amount of languages, up to 5 new tool proficiencies, or up to 2 new skills.

Tool Proficiency	35 gold/week for 4 weeks
Language	35 gold/week for 6 weeks
Skill Proficiency	20 gold/week for 12 weeks

Alternatively, you may use downtime to subtract one point from an attribute and at it to another. The point is not moved until the last week of training is complete.
