History of Falder Fell as told by the Gnomes

Long ago in Falder Fell the humans allied with elves and dwarves waging war on their long time enemies, the orcs. They laid waste to orc holds while pushing them out of the Fell and caused their 'monstrous' allies to go into hiding.

With this victory the human civilizations grew in power. Their eyes then turned green with envy coveting the magic of the elves and wealth of the dwarven nobility. Their lust led them to turn to dark gods and make deals with destructive spirits. Human queens and kings grew callous to the needs of their people and they waged war with their former allies. The elves retreated into the Feywild and the dwarves into the mountains to seal themselves away.

But not every human civilization was rotten, not yet. Some of the righteous vowed an oath to Lathander, Helm, Torm, and Tempus to stop the atrocities committed by their kin. Their covenant transformed them into aasimar. They then allied with their former enemies, allies of the orc, including goblin kin, drow, lizard folk, kenku, and giants. New war was waged resulting in the destruction of human civilization in the Fell.

However, once it came time for the aasimar to divide up the newly conquered lands they did not make good on their promises. They laid claim to most all the land giving the most choice locations to their own kin. The monstrous races were furious but also now disorganized and weakened from the war. They accused the aasimar for the betrayal but they also accused one another as conspiracy theories arose. Skirmishes between aasimar and their former allies broke out all across Falder Fell.

Currently the Fell is a land divided by bitter enemies. City-states butt up to one another for control of desired locations between expanses of wilderness and old battle grounds. Ruins of human, dwarven, and elven civilizations dot the land with hidden treasures lost to time and war.
