Longsaddle
Longsaddle is a hamlet on the Long Road in Northern Faerun, Situated east of the Crags and west of the Evermoors. Longsaddle is the magical home of the Harpell family, whose influence can be seen throughout the hamlet, not least of which would be one of the bridges leading into it. This bridge is designed, as are many things by the Harpells, to make what should be simple into something fantastical. Rather than simply building a wide bridge to allow carts to pass one another, this bridge is only wide enough for a single wagon to pass but it is magically one way, with those entering the town magically walking on the underneath of the bridge and those leaving travelling across the top of the bridge. The stream that the bridge crosses flows backwards, with the water flowing up the small waterfall that is produces.
This type of whacky and needless invention is the staple of the Harpells, in-fact, the bridge is just about the most useful thing they have made for the town, with the sunlight powered streetlamps being among the less useful.

History
Longsaddle was founded by Shardra Harpell, an escaped Calishite slave.
Two separate sects of the Malarite faith wanted to set up churches by the waterfront of a magically created lake. The two churches immediately began fighting each other and the Harpells had to step in. Unfortunately, they couldn't get rid of them so instead they imposed a severe punishment on the more dangerous individuals: transmuting them permanently into harmless rabbits.
