Andusan Caliphate - The Cult of the New Dawn

The Andusan Caliphate's splinter sect, The Cult of the New Dawn is a religious order in small pockets around the North. They have only recently been located in Faerun, having traveled far from the far of desert kingdom of Andusa on a different continent. They worship a dragon demi-god known as Fajar Hadid in the Andusan language, and the New Dawn in Common.    Fajar is a demi-god exile from Andusa, after defying his mother, the Andusan Blue Dragon Goddess Alraed al-Azraq. He objected to the genocide of dragonborn within the kingdom that was conducted by the Caliphate and instigated a rebellion against his mother. He was defeated by his older brother Faris, another powerful blue dragon demi-god, and exiled away from the continent, never to return.    Some of his followers believe him to have surfaced in Faerun, but he has not been seen or heard from by any of his disciples.

Mythology & Lore

Fajar is a demi-god exile from Andusa, after defying his mother, the Andusan Blue Dragon Goddess Alraed al-Azraq. He objected to the genocide of dragonborn within the kingdom that was conducted by the Caliphate and instigated a rebellion against his mother. He was defeated by his older brother Faris, another powerful blue dragon demi-god, and exiled away from the continent, never to return.   The base Andusan religion venerates the dragon goddess Alraed al-Azraq. In the days before the Caliphate, the massive desert known as the Dimue Altanin was ruled by Blue Dragons. The Dragons enslaved all humanoids, a vast majority being Andusan Humans, and Dragonborn.    Alraed was born in a cave far in the vastness of the desert. She was born to Blue Dragon parents and was said to have been touched by divinity from birth. She would grow to pity the humans and dragonborn, and launched a rebellion to overthrow the Blue Dragons in the desert. The Humans fought side by side with Dragonborn and Alraed. defeating almost 95% of the dragons. The unlikely rebel leader would go on to lead the two peoples to prosperity, founding a kingdom in the center of the desert, with a great river spawning from two tear drops from the sapphire wyrm.    She would ascend to godhood near the end of her life, leaving behind 3 children, Faris, Fajar and Satie. Faris was the goddess's lieutenant, Fajar was charged with caring for the humans and dragonborn's growing kingdom, while Satie was a scholar and shy demi-goddess.    Humans were tasked with leading the Caliphate, and the Caliph was said to be a goddess that was best suited to carry on the mantle of Alraed. Unrest grew as a movement began that saw dragonborn as the rightful rulers of the Caliphate. The goddess viewed this troublesome attack on her divine proclaiments that she ordered the extinction of dragonborn within the kingdom. Faris conducted the genocide, and Dragonborn were erased from the minds, histories and texts of the land. The genocide was only known to a select group of clerics within the church and a few surviving dragonborn who remain in hiding to this very day.
