Faerun

The world has been blissfully at a relative peace for decades, the separate peoples and kingdoms allowed to live their lives.   But a powerful and malignant entity pushes at the tethers that bind them, weakening the barriers set in place between the different Planes of Existence.   Cultists roam the cities, enacting horrible rituals and inciting fear. Powerful Vampires and Lycans rise to the surface where they had once avoided. Liches rise to prominence and raise vast hordes of undead. And otherworldly entities are dragged into the Mortal Plane, to wreak havoc on the seas.   Deities, Fae and Demons all wrestle and vie for control in this age of weakened protections and the mortal races scramble desperately to contain a world suddenly turned on its head.   And during all this chaos, the betrayed and former God of Death; Myrkul plans to rise again, to take his revenge on those who wronged him and to engulf the world in a tide of Undeath the likes have never before been seen.   Faerun's fate lies in the hands of a small band of misfit and misguided anti-heroes and the world waits on baited breath to see if they are successful.
