Faerûn

Faerûn is the product of the draining of the Great Sea: Those who have lived across the era of the Draining died in the process: access to water became incredibly difficult, and most of the population died out despite the immediate danger of pirates being destroyed. One region, however, did thrive. The Sword Coast. It easily survived. The sea next to them was what was once known as the Sea of Nyrk. The Tritons had mastered the art of water purification, as the salt irritated them. What once was a quality of life improvement had been the savior to millions of humans.   A thousand years have passed since the Draining. The world has been recuperating well, and population has been slowly increasing. Eventually, the population became more than what it was before. Some civilizations were lost in this blow to the world, and cultures have devolved into things like Tuern and The Spine. These places were exiled, with their cultures lost to the time. The ruins are worth millions of gold pieces, even for a single brick. The relic weapons the natives wield are so incredibly powerful, nearly nobody returns. These artifacts, lost to time.
