Karkinos
Karkinos was an adult elf from the far off city-planet of Ravnica when he was abducted, transformed, and held by the Simic Combine. Now he has been made into a crab-like Simic hybrid, stouter than the average elf, with blue-green skin in chitinous patches and protrusions.
Another hybrid, a Kung Fu master, freed Karkinos and his fellow hybrids from their captors. This savior teleported the hybrids to the remote and serene wilds of Faerun, where he established a monastery dedicated to teaching the martial arts style he used to fight the Simic Combine. Karkinos devoted himself to following his master’s righteous example, and has become a foremost pupil of the Way of the Twilight Path.
Over the span of four months, the master's once strong body stooped, grew frail, and developed rashes of sores. He was resurrected in the course of his past adventures, and now has fallen prey to the death curse. He has refused his pupils' entreaties to seek out the cause of the curse, believing it to be too dangerous. But Karkinos has disobeyed his master and struck out on his own . . .
