The Primordial Greenwood is a vast peat bog that is mostly flat. Over half of the land is covered with water. There are sparse trees. One edge of the Greenwood is bordered by the Jade Forest and the Faerie Kingdom. The south side is bordered by the Tartarus Mountain range. The Greenwood is ombrotrophic.
Fauna & Flora
Flora
The Primordial Greenwood is abundant in different types of fungi and moss. There are also several types of carnivorous plants, such as venus fly traps and pitcher plants. Orchids also flourish in the bog. Evergreen bushes and some trees also make their home here. A majority of the trees are located alongside the Jade Forest.Fauna
Aside from the goblins, there are many different species of insects that live in the Primordial Greenwood. A few shorebirds live along the bog, as well as beavers. Several reptiles, mainly snakes and lizards, live in the Greenwood, some living in the water. Faeries and daemons also live in the Greenwood.Habitats
The goblins, faeries, and daemons live in the ruins of the previous cities. These ruins are made of stone and partially reclaimed by the plant life. The other fauna live freely within the the natural habitat.Interactions
The goblins are the proclaimed rulers of the Primordial Greenwood, and since there are few faeries and daemons living in the bog, goblins are deferred to for all social and legal issues. Most carnivorous plants eat only insects, though the larger ones have eaten faeries. The shorebirds only live in the Greenwood for part of the year.Natural Resources
Peat is the main resource found in the Primordial Greenwood. The peat is typically burned for fuel but is also used for insulation in the goblins' homes.
