The Jail of Faeden

The Jail of Faeden is mostly just a walled-in section of the city no different than any other. Inmates are treated by respect by the watchers, and are allowed to manage their own time. The only restrictions the prisoners have is access to community resources and the fact that they aren’t allowed to leave the jail. Other than these restrictions, life functions mostly the same. Inmates often grow their own gardens within the walls and enjoy the same food as citizens living outside the jail. Should a fight break out between two inmates, or extreme measures must be used for some other reason, the prisoner is confined to their section of the jail until the Judge of Law or court decides they are fit to re-enter the rest of the jail society. The walls of the jail are made out of reinforced stone, which renders climbing to escape virtually impossible. Prisoners are also restricted from planting too close to the wall so they aren’t able to plant things to help them escape over the walls. The Jail itself doesn’t seem harsh or effective as a deterrent due to how jail is in our society, but in Faeden, jail is something to be avoided at all costs. It limits your ability to contribute to society and nature, and is likely to change the way people interact with you for a long, long time.
