Daphnaeae, the Dryad Queen

Raised from birth in the manners and etiquette of the dryad culture, Daphnaeae was taught daily the roles and responsibilities of the Dryad Queen and her council, hoping one day to be appointed such a prestigious rank. Despite not being as well educated and prepared as other potential candidates, the former queen found her to be the one, and named Daphnaeae to be her successor. What was even more unpredictable, however, was the former Dryad Queens untimely death in the prime of her life, shocking the whole city of Faeden. Quickly Daphnaeae had to rise to her new position, and swiftly she won over the hearts of her people with her caring and loving demeanor.

Although her reign has been rough around the edges, she’s done her best to appoint experienced and elderly dryads to her council so that they may aid her heavily in the decades to come. The question as to whether she was ready to reign has been raised many times, and as steam technology has begun to rise and show harm to plants, many look to her and her council for judgment and guidance. While she herself has strived to show empathy and care for all, her council is against her allowing this steam technology to continue, bearing the weight of a hard and difficult decision that could determine the future of Faeden all on a young Dryad Queen.
