Church of St. Zeller

Church of St. Zeller: A large and well built church that was run by Cleric Raman until just a few weeks ago. Cleric Calmet is the new faithful servant. This is one of only a few churches in Toril that can produce true Holy Water (50gp per vial). Many of the townsfolk worship here regularly. St. Zeller is a LG Duty aspect of Baba Mavi.     Cleric Calmet (Order Cleric): Cleric of St. Zeller, LG Duty aspect of Baba Mavi. Calmet has just arrived in Hommlet. He has been in the church to a whole two weeks. He is exceedingly young and full of optimism. With the help of his family friend, Lord Saxon, he was able to get this honored appointment. The former Cleric, Raman, is off with Ottis and Drogyn searching for Turrim.       1. Hall: A great hall where the townsfolk come to hear the sermon on Godsday  and Saintsday each week. It is floored in well polished wood, with wooden pillars and a ceiling extending all the way to the roof high overhead. The walls are painted in pastoral scenes, and tinted glass mosaic windows of many shades of color allow light into the hall. It is standing room only.   2. Processional: A large hallway where the worshipers are lead between the Sanctuary and the Great hall by the Cleric. The floor is a lighter wood, and the walls are deep blue, sprinkled with starbursts of silver leaf.   3. Altar and Sanctuary: A circular chamber screened by a drape of deep green velvet. A life-sized statue of St. Zeller, kneeling with his longsword planted in the ground in front of him, hand on the pommel and his head bowed in reverence. Growing ferns and other plants are behind the statue, while to either side are tree stumps for clerics to officiate from, while an altar is carved from a single piece of stone.   4. Study and Audience Chamber: A functional room with benches, nice chairs, fireplace, and table. This is the typical entrance to the church on non-worship days. An acolyte would typically be waiting to greet visitors. There are stairs leading to the lower floor.   5. Vestry: This room is sparsely decorated and is used as a place of preparation for the clerics for services on Godsday. There are stairs that lead to the upper floor.   Lower Floor 6. Church Kitchen: A serving woman and her husband prepare meals and care for the churchmen's needs here. All normal meals are prepared and taken here. They are busier than normal with the added load of patients.   7. Meditation Room: This room is heavily padded around all walls, ceiling and floor. The only decoration is the symbol of St. Zeller on the wall, and an incense burning hangs from the center of the room. It is quiet and peaceful.   8. Exercise Room: A simple room with two wooden dummies and a small weapons rack. Weapon and spell practice is conducted here daily.   9. Sacred Trophies Gallery: Along the hallway several trophies are hung, with placards below each one. Swords, armor, shields, some stuffed beast heads, and other trophies are reminders of the deads of great Clerics and Paladins of St. Zeller.   10. Hospital/Cells: Former cells have been transformed into small hospital rooms. Several are occupied by recent travelers of Greensedge. Several acolytes tend to the sick.   Upper Floor 11. Church Library: A comfortable sitting area and a fireplace accent several shelves of book, scrolls, and tomes. Most of the works are religious, but there are also some arcane and legal texts as well. One book, Legal Affairs in Kaan, holds an Amulet of Wound Closing if opened.   12. Upper Hall: A spacious room filled with large, comfortable chairs and couches. Many visiting clerics have rested here.   13. Acolyte Quarters: A large room that is well enough furnished. Several beds fill the area, robes and cords of various colors hang from the posts. Above, where the tower extends yet another 30ft or so beyond the ceiling overhead, are a collection of bells, chimes and gongs which must be sounded at certain times of the day (Dawn, Noon, Dusk) and during Godsday services.   14. Cleric's chambers: A comfortably furnished and well appointed room. A large bed, a nice wooden desk, cushioned chairs, and fine golden accoutrements fill the well lit space. There is a heavy locked metal chest that holds the donations. Lock DC20, Loot: 48pp, 243gp, 578sp, Amber +1 Mace (500gp), Bronze Necklace (59gp).   15. Balcony: A well maintained stone balcony. It's about 15ft from the ground below with a nice view into the town.
