Landschneckt

Professionals for hire, the Landschneckt are often used for dangerous work such as cleaning out goblin nests, rescuing kidnapped individuals, finding lost treasures, and more besides. The expertise of each Landschneckt can vary wildly, as is the type of contract that they accept. But, regardless of what expertise that they bring, one thing is very certain, and that is that the Landschneckt are the ones who do jobs that need doing.

Payment & Reimbursement

Landshneckt are paid on a per contract basis. There are protections to insure that the Landschneckt have adequate compensation for their work. For work that turns more difficult than advertised, Landschneckt are able to go to the Alderman, or Judge, to explain the discrepancy. If decided in their favor, the Alderman can assess the contract payment to what is a more equitable payment.

Other Benefits

Landshneckt are highly regarded throughout society. The nobles enjoy the ability to have those that are able to take on dangerous, or at times delicate, work and so free up their own armsmen. The peasantry look up the Landschneckt as a way of moving up the social hierarchy and bettering their financial positions.
