Historical Details

History

This creed was first formulated at the First Ecumenical Council held at Sacellum, located in what is now Andlais, in 225 CE, as a response to the Valastar heresy, which added the six-armed mantis god Thrym to the pantheon. It was revised at the Second Ecumenical Council in 281 as a response to the Palladorn heresy, which denied the divinity of Kelvish.

Sacellic Creed

We believe in the Five Gods, the Holy Pentatheon, shields of civilization, swords of justice, and paragons of virtue.

We believe in Aruna Maharani, the Sun Queen, the Golden Goddess, the Empress of the Gods, who brings mercy to the deserving, who promotes culture and the arts, and on whom the fabric of society is built.

We believe in Viresh Bengali, Knight of the Paradises, King of all Heroes, who shows neither fear in battle nor impatience in love, and never breaks his holy word.

We believe in Sakshi Ganil, the Unseen Blade, the Inescapable Judge, who brings to justice those who would evade the law, who charges not headlong into battle but teaches us caution and strategy to defeat our foes.

We believe in Asra Abasi, the Benefactress, the Shepherdess of Valais, who gives to all with open hands, who shows us when the one is right to stand against the many.

We believe in Kelvish Kulkarni, Master of the Hidden Plan, the Roller of Dice, who instills in us the drive to achieve, who frustrates the schemes of the wicked.

We believe in the holy and universal Pentic Church. We acknowledge the primacy of the Grand Master over the earthly clergy and the liturgy of the Adoration, and we bow in obedience to his Edicts.
