Merek is even more of a son of a bitch than his younger brother Rowan, with no conscience or regrets. He's also better at hiding his baser nature than Rowan, both now, and while they were growing up. He left the village some years and scrapes by, moving from one transient job or scheme to another.
Merek has close-cropped light brown hair, a graying short beard, a nose that has been broken at least twice before, and the ice-blue eyes of sled dog.
