Fading Earth
In the past, waves of change continuously washed over the world. Periods of war and times of peace exchanged places. Conquest brought triumph or defeat. Creation mended what was lost and birthed new chaos. Civilizations were thrust through the ages through technological advancement and took to handling magic. Those that failed to keep with the flow spiralled into ruin, to be replaced by a new one. Existence was ever-shifting.
Now the foundations have crumbled, and those left go tending to the remains. Whatever power kept us afloat and gave us life has been extinguished. The world did not collapse in violent conflict. The doomsayers and oracles did not have the joy of watching it go up in flames. Instead, it all came into grinding halt, and we can only watch it slowly sink.
In an earth that is fading, memories are diluted and names are a treasure.
