"I thought I told you not to disturb me," he said, arms crossed across his chest.
"Apologies, sir. I have a report for you," she replied, her ever-present smile but a shadow on her face. "I hadn't heard from Vzilike in a while, so I went to check on him."
"And?"
"Unfortunately, sir, it seems someone hunted him down."
He scoffed. "And I had such high hopes for him."
"What should we do, sir?"
"Nothing. If he was fool enough to get himself killed, I'm not risking anything to avenge him. Tell the others, and tell Sialess to come see me. I need them to make something for me."
She bowed. "Understood." After a moment's hesitation, she left the room.
