Eyja
The empire of Eyja consists of two main islands and lots of smaller archipelagos. To the north lies cold, mountainous Norra, with extensive forrests and pretty villages. The main source of income comes from timber and hides, and the people there prosper and live in harmony with nature and the gods.
To the south lies Sodra, where most of the population of Eyja lives. Sodra has lots of variations in climate, from temperate to tropical. There are beautiful old cities, universities and temples dotted throughout the land.
The Emperor and his parliament (called the Ridad) rule from the capital of Lindon. In recent decades the land has seen a number of changes in climate, with more extreme storms, floods and droughts. A large portion of the country is turning into inhabitable desert, putting more pressure on the already overflowing cities.
The Emperor whishes to look for greener pastures oversees, for which he would need ships, for which he would need timber...
