Exélixi

Humanity, now spread across the cosmos, finds itself one of its largest challenges yet. Exélixi is a planet home to a vast array of unique creatures with the ability to mutate rapidly in response to their environment. After its initial colonisation, humans soon developed what was known as an "Inhibitor", a device which could be used to splice human DNA with that of these fantastic creatures. This lead to the rise of "Splicers", mercenaries who used this technology for their own gain, although often on hunting missions to protect townships. The "Inhibitor" each mercenary used would allow them to extract DNA samples from defeated creatures, as well as boost their own strength through the temporary splicing of either a creatures physical or elemental attributes.

The threat of the Metalláxeis, the planets mutating wildlife, is constant and ever-growing. This danger and a lack of external support from other human intergalactic colonies is what lead to the many gangs and mercenary groups which both plague the people of Exélixi, through dangerous organised crime rings, yet also provide the little safety the planet has.

Further contributing to the planet's unrest are the three Titans, mountain-sized Metalláxeis, which slowly travel the continents and leave unrecognisable landscapes in their wake. These unstoppable forces of nature prevent permanent settlements and have lead to the nomadic lifestyles lead by most.
