Core Stats | Resolve, Stamina, and Focus

Rather than HP, AP, and MP to represent a characters health, action points, and mana points, Exile13 has three core stats: Resolve, Stamina, and Focus. While Stamina and Focus are still used like AP/MP as a resource for performing actions, Resolve is a much less straightforward measure of your health, instead indicating your morale, will, constitution, and your ability to act. Health is calculated very differently, with no strict "min" and "max" health, but rather as "Unhealth": a system of status effects and injuries that wear down your ability to act.
Resolve: A measure of your character's ability to keep going. This is a calculated value based on your status effects, unhealth, stamina, and focus. When this reaches zero, you become helpless, and are vulnerable to death.
Stamina: A measure of your character's physical energy. It is expended to perform strenuous physical actions, and is damaged by hunger, thirst, fatigue, and physical unhealth. Expended stamina is replenished passively over time, or actively by resting/sleeping. Damaged stamina may only be restored by dealing with the root cause. (Eating when hungry, drinking when thirsty, sleeping when fatigued, healing when injured, etc.)
Focus: A measure of your character's mental energy. It is expended to perform strenuous mental actions, and is damaged by stress, fatigue, fear, and mental unhealth. Expended focus is replenished passively over time, or actively by resting/sleeping. Damaged focus may only be restored by dealing with the root cause.
Character's start with base stats of 10 Stamina, and 10 Focus. When creating a character, you may permanently reduce them in exchange for additional points to spend on innate Attributes, or 5 skill points to spend on Skills.
