Classes

A character's classes represent their professions and area's of expertise. In Exile13, character classes are split into five major branches representing different fields of study. These fields are known as "S.T.E.M.X.", or Science, Technology, Engineering, Medicine, and Xtracurricular. Each of these branches has four sub-classes, or disciplines, further specializing in their field. The general roles of the classes are:   Scientists: Advance explorers, looters, and long-term party support. They are the largest source of upgrades, loot, and advancement. Technologists: Offensive specialist roles with access to lots of high tech equipment. Often accompany scientists. Engineers: Defensive base-builder roles able to zone-out and secure hazardous areas, and maintain logistics. Doctors: Defensive support roles with long-term party support. They keep the party alive, and provide loot and advancement.   Other professions exist outside of these core roles, but are typically less viable and with lower demand.

A table listing the various common sub-classes of the S.T.E.M.X. education system. Most characters are expected to specialize primarily in one field, but are still able to have some supportive understanding of a few other classes.
Your chosen class will affect your expected role, and your starting skills and proficiencies.
