Mapmakers
The Mapmakers are a continental group of scholars, cartographers, and inventors dedicated to seeking out lost knowledge, mapping the Known World, and promoting scholarly studies. No knowledge is too terrible for them, whether it was written by a small child or the most ancient and evil of necromancers, and they’re always seeking to expand upon the grand collection of maps they hold in their keep in Athos. Most of the time, they commission adventurers or other powerful individuals to chart the uncharted for them or otherwise delve into places where ancient knowledge may be hidden, but the few among them who can handle themselves in combat have no problem with seeking out the unseekable on their own. Many of the Known World’s greatest libraries are handled by the Mapmakers, and one can always be certain that, if something is known, the Mapmakers have a record of it somewhere.
