Immortals

The Immortals are a group of mercenaries, soldiers, and warriors based in Esteria that value the sanctity of combat and martial prowess. The actively seek out powerful individuals via quests, arenas, and rumors, all in the name of creating a unified group of champions across the Known World that will stand the test of time. They’re completely unbiased towards both race and skill, accepting all peoples and prowess so long as they’re able to properly prove their mettle via trial by combat. The Immortals do exclusively seek out persons they see as having a positive effect on the world, however, and thus those renowned as bandits, highwaymen, and the like have no place within the faction. This also means that they expect their members to uphold responsibility for their power and continuously prove their worth, leading to the Immortals oftentimes seeking out danger across the Known World and assigning the task of dealing with it to any members in the relative area. Before a member of the Immortals can be promoted to Warrior rank, they are required to take on a task a la the Labors of Hercules before they gain their promotion.
