Helio

"Beyond scattered air balloons and chariots led by armored pegasi, dark clouds hang over the horizon, choking reminders that the constant clang of hammers in the background meet an all-around deadline for progress. The stone-shaking rumble of trolleys squealing this direction and that gives way to the grinding of old, iron gears below the Hydro Collossi walkway as you cross from one side of the city to another. Here, a ragged philosopher debates some newfound insight into evolutionary arcanics with a battered artificer over a cup of black Savorian coffee. There, before the iron gates of a red-roofed home, a coal-blackened elf beats on a masterfully carved automaton of marble and bronze, demanding she be allowed to speak with her employer. You turn, and maybe, just maybe, catch a glimpse of some silk-robbed diplomat standing upon on of the Embassy's many balconies, their toga wafting in the breeze as they look over the city before them. Before you can confirm this, however, the push and shove of people knocks you to your knees, the salt-smell of the sea and the metallic stench of smelting steel colonizing your mind as a guard in sullen gold fabrics bearing a mechanical shield and spear pulls you to your feet and pats you on the back. Welcome to Helio, the Golden City of Esteria."   Helio is capitol city of Esteria, and one of the most technologically advanced settlements on Exellendra.

Points of interest

  1. The Boule Embassy. The Boule Embassy of Esteria is a large acropolis overlooking the Bay of Erathis. One of the oldest buildings in Helio, the acropolis has been continuously reconstructed and improved over the years, creating a sprawling complex of villas, meeting rooms, gardens, and the central Boule chamber, capable of housing over five hundred diplomats. Much of the embassy is catered to by the same automaton servants common in the rest of Helio, though much of the building itself is also mechanical, consisting of industrial arcane heating and lighting, rotating floors, and an automated workshop for the Embassy Artificer of Esteria.
