Hardships Ritual
Each of the hardships materials change depending on the drake type. The drake could require all hardships to be bonded or just one.Duel Hardship
This is a duel between the drake and the bonder. The duels could last only afew minutes to hours. The duel is a battle of wills through strength and endurance. The technique can result in death for either drake or bonder. This hardship is used on alphas and dominant drakes. However, this is technique has been used on submissive drakes and results vary on success.Dance of Drakes Hardship
The more unusual but still effective hardship. This hardship is not a dance in the traditional sense. The bonder would watch how the drake's behavior for weeks or months at a time. The interactions between drakes reveal movements and body language. A bonder could claim dominance of the beast if they could replicate these intricate motions. This technique is useful on more submissive drakes and hardy ever works on alpha drakes. If performed on an alpha drake, it is likely to kill you at any moment.Meld Hardship
Effectiveness hinges on the bonder and drake's ability to withstand the hardship. A combination of alchemy and spellcasting allow for what is called mind melding. This is most difficult hardship to endure and perform. The bonder and drake have their minds' melded together allowing them to experience each other's memories as if their own. This ritual is dangerous as one can lose their sense of self inside the other's mind. The connection can fail before it begins, death, or permanent insanity. Used for alphas and those that wish to have superior skills on the battlefield. The link only lasts the duration of the ritual.
