Grand Archive

Purpose / Function

Despite this place being the residence of the Seeking Scholar and the largest collection of books; there are no statues, art, or any shrines to the deity in the building. However, there are statues at the doorways to the building. This building seems to be for the sole purpose of storing books. Those the clergy of the Seeking Scholar may enter the Lower Library; read, copy, and take notes of the books.

Design

Lower Library

Bookcases are a maze-like on the floor and ceiling. Ladders allow teleportation between the floor and ceiling bookcases if tapped twice by hand and foot. Paper registries hang from the ends of the cases stating what books and which shelf to find it. Every wall and available space is used for bookcases. Any people found here are sitting on the floor, ladders, bookcases, and shelves. Glowing stones float around the library and these are the library's only light sources.   No one greets visitors at the door, but a quill floats does greet them. It writes into the air, rules of the building; Do Not Remove, Destroy, or Damage Any Books/ No Spellcasting, & No Fire. Next it writes, What do you seek? The quill gives directions to bookcases, not books. If asked about the Seeking Scholar; If you seek him, then he will seek you.

Upper Library

This single room has no doors and rumor to go deeper into the Upper Library is said to be a book that changes it's location in the Lower Library. Bookcases are stored into the floor, bottom half of the walls are bookshelves and the top half are windows. Books can be summoned from their shelves by calling out its title and placing hands upon a pedestal set to the far side of the room. Dexterity check for anyone near to a bookcase to dodge a flying book.

Sensory & Appearance

The only furnishings are the bookcases, books, floating stones, paper, ladders, and the occasional person; who are scattered amongst the bookcase maze. The only sounds here are the sounds of soft breathing, coughing or sneezes, flipping pages, and the doors as they close. The smell of old paper and ink bounded by leather permeates the air.

Denizens

Chosen clergy are allowed into the Lower Library and those chosen from the chosen are allowed into the Upper Library. The clergy do not live here, but to those on the outside it would appear so as they always return. The clergy would never leave if they did not have to care for their bodies to live.
