The construction of the city has allowed dangerous beasts to live under the city serving both as a hazard to citizens and a defense to any attackers.

Industry & Trade

The area under and around the city is too hazardous to grow crops. Farming towns are built away from the city and transports food to the city. The city subsists from the deadly beasts below, and bog iron. Bog iron is one of the main defenses from the fey. This iron is exported to the neutral territories, foreign and local empires.

Infrastructure

The city of Chandilly is large and built atop stone pillars that rise out of the swamp floor. Use of spellwork to build this city has allowed it to grow larger in size with minor threat of flooding, however, it has a consequence. The spellwork pulls earth from the surrounding area to make these pillars, causing that area to become deeper swamp. Many dangerous beasts live under and around the city for this reason.
