The Seekers

After Lord Percival decided to eradicate firearms and blackpowder from the world, he formed a secret organization and dubbed them the Seekers. Their covert mission was three fold: first, to locate and destroy the remaining firearms in the world. Second, hunt down and arrest (or kill if necessary) any remaining worshippers of the Whispered One. The third goal of this secret faction was to seek out any whispers of impending destruction or looming evil plots across Tal'Dorei and beyond.   "The forces of evil never sleep and so we must be ever vigilant." - Lord Percy addressing the first of the order that took the oath to protect against evils that threaten the world at large.   Its ranks come from all steps of society to form an elite force of bounty hunters, soldiers and secret agents that search the vast realms of Tal'Dorei for firearms and any Remnants found are locked away or destroyed.

Structure

Much like the Knights of the Round Table, all members hold the same rank and title, "Seeker". Lord de Rolo IV also counts himself an equal "Seeker" amongst those who choose to join this secret faction, though membership is still extremely selective of its members and is strictly by invite only after the new recruit in question has been secretly vetted and approved by the Seekers.

Assets

The Seekers HQ is located in the lower levels of the Whitestone clocktower. There are hidden passageways to access the Seekers barracks, but specific locations are known only to members: one leads to the sewers beneath Whitestone, another exits onto the city streets, a third passage is linked to Whitestone Castle itself, the final passage leads out & under the city walls to a cavern tucked away in the Parchwood Forest that surrounds the city, just beyond the limits of Whitestones enchantment against divination. Lord de Rolo IV recognized the importance of quick response to any possible threats, so he commissioned the Arcana Panosophical to build a teleportation circle in this hidden away cavern.   The barracks contains a dining hall with a resident chef(Chef is head of intelligence and organizes all information secured in their missions), armory, workshop/smithy for equipment repair & customization, a sparring room complete with firing range, and sleeping quarters.

History

Once known as the Riflemen of Whitestone, the now former royal guard was disbanded when Lord and Lady de Rolo decreed that all firearms to be destroyed and banned any future use within the realms of Whitestone. The Council of Taldorei ratified this decree into national law shortly after, some say after a heated argument between council members in which Lady de Rolo's pet bear sat on the loudest voice against the ban and accidentally suffocated him to death. After 20 years of scouring Tal'Dorei for firearms and Vecnas worshippers, the Seekers have come to reason that while it is believed that all the known firearms have been destroyed, the risk of the destruction they pose remains too high to stop searching. The Remnants have also all but gone from the continent and the Seekers now function as a sort of secret police across Tal'Dorei. Its higher ranking members are quietly speaking of expanding into Wildemount to continue their mission across Exandria.
