Primals

The pinnacle of the elemental forces of Evramar. There are four primals, each holding sway over one of the base elements; fire, water, earth, or wind. While Eikons are ascended and worshipped, the Primals have existed since the world began, and continue to exist regardless of their worship.
Beings of pure energy, the Primals have very rarely been seen in person, being close enough to speak to one is akin to a death sentence. Their main method of communicating with the living world is through omens or directly using their element. Visions may appear in fire, a landslide may speak guidance, clouds form images only visible to their intended recipient, water may flow into shapes or bubble words to speak.
The Primals are regarded as forces of nature that cannot be compelled to do what they do not wish to do. Some cultures offer prayers or sacrifices to appease them, with varying effects. The most common practitioners of this are sailors who pray for good weather before they leave port. Those in good graces with a Primal may wind up birthing a Genasi.
Genasi themselves are attuned to their affiliated Primal and are sought out by those who wish to gain their favor or their power. For this reason, Genasi and any who are able to draw their power directly from a Primal are cautious about who's company they keep. They are known to be taken advantage of and even captured or used in rituals themselves because of their birthright.
